Hello, I am Rob.

I’ve spent three decades building software, most of it as a founder or early engineer at startups in Silicon Valley USA, Sydney Australia, and Auckland New Zealand. In 2020 I extended my engineering repertoire into the realm of machine learning. On that journey I’ve completed the DeepLearning.ai specialization, and recently completed a postgraduate certificate in computer science from Auckland University of Technology.

Some examples of my work and interests: I’ve shipped a RAG based property search tool and computer vision models for detecting truck movements in real world logistics settings. Currently, I’m working on building real time CNNs that run on microcontrollers with Beluga Navigation Systems, and genetic algorithms for process optimization with The Rohans.

I ship machine learning applications that work outside of a notebook.
