Guinness Soft Drink
Random tid bit.
A friend of mine went to Africa a while ago and brought me back an odd, but cool souvenir. It’s a soft drink made by Guinness called Malta. Here is what it looks like:
While this may sound like something you may want to try, he said it is a “very acquired taste” [...]

[...] Here’s an example of how you can write some (perl) code using Vista’s Speech Recognition. (Watch the video-clip before you attempt to do so!) Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it! | reddit! | kick it! | live it! [...]

This is one of the funniest videos I’ve seen in a very long time!
Thanks for sharing.

haha, awesome! made my day dude, but truly speeking, they’ve done a lot to do this thing, except they’re still as stupid as don’t understand what exactly is the meaning of an operating system, does anyone on the earth installing windows will ever need this thing? or even use it except as a joke? that’s how they make it a big-big stupid os. 15GB of stupidity? wow! I love it when they release their new stuff, it’s like they start talking about how stupid they are.
Funny but the guys a complete retard, the speech recognition seemed to work pretty good, it doesn’t help that he keeps telling the PC thankyou, and even humans have a hard time distinguish M from N.
funny but definitely shouldn’t be seen as a slight on Vista or its speech recognition
What an idiot. He must be a Mac or Linux user. Dude, try not talking to yourself when you’re using voice recognition software. Also, try not drinking alcohol before doing same. You are slurring your words together and talking so fast it’s no wonder it doesn’t know what you want. Lastly, I doubt it was designed to do coding considering the case sensitive nature of many programming languages. Try using it to write a letter to your mommy letting her know what a total pansy you are.
“funny but definitely shouldn’t be seen as a slight on Vista or its speech recognition”
Totally. I doubt they had writing code in mind when they designed it. It does show how far off the ability to “speak code” is however. I wonder if anyone is actually working on writing an application to do that.
I would like to see it working well though. I’ve only seen two videos of the speech recognition so far - this one and the news one ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Y_Jp6PxsSQ ) where it performed horribly. I’d like to see a good one because I dig this technology even though I use a Mac I’d like to see it advance (so I can code and eat at the same time :-D)
This is very funny! I guess everything have its ups and downs?
Windows says “Mouth full of food mode engaged”.
Porn drives most technology, now people can click links and type URLs with no hands straight from the box!
It handled his garbage commands quite well, after trying out Dragon Dictate in 1932, or whenever it was, I must say it looks comparatively well implemented. I’d like to see it handle a French accented English speaker talking code.

I just want to see how the computer will understand your words with your mouth full :D
Hahah - classic. Great way to start a friday
hahaha - windows sucks again :)
Yeah, Windows sucks, right? What about this guy on the video, m? Cool dude! Coding using Voice Recognition - probably writes letters to his parents in Pearl and then his parents parse it through an HTTP server to read it?!?! Idiot ideas give birth to idiot results (not to mention they derive from idiots). OK, Vista sucks, but what kind of a proof is this? To me it seemed as if VR behaved quite well
you gotta be a retard to code in perl using voice recognition
