Evolution looks kind of promising, but I would like just a standalone address book application. I fire this up all the time to lookup someone's info, and I'd hate for it to be buried in a "complicated" app. Also how do I move my current contacts into it?

Application: OpenOffice or Gnumeric. I actually prefer Gnumeric becuase it is more like tables, OpenOffice is a very heavy feeling application. It feels like Microsoft Office, where Gnumeric feels more like Tables.

Application: Evolution. While I like the simpler Mac Mail UI far better (Evolution is more like MS Outlook which I dislike). However, Evolution has so far done everything I need.

Application: Evolution. Same complaint I have with Mail - I like the single purpose, separate application UI better, but Evolution does what I need.

GEdit. You have to tick a few boxes, but gEdit has many features that Textmate has. Missing features I love in Textmate: column select, the jump to file dialog, and subversion integration.

This is only here for completeness, see "MySQL Query Browser". I like this applications UI better than MySQL Query browser, but not to a deal breaking level.

Application: Zim Zim is a personal wiki application that is fast and easy to use. It works in the same way as notebook does (wiki like) and has a todo tick off item view. It can also export to HTML for posting on the internet. Very nice.

Currently I am using the command line for subversion (and git). It would be nice to have a GUI to manage my repository, but it's not really needed (at least for me).

Application: Rhythmbox. It supports some iPods (not iPhones or iPod Touches though), and if you've bought a lot of media from iTunes you won't be able to play those files; however, it does podcasts (I listen to quite a few), internet radio, rips CDs, and has a few music stores. It fulfills my needs and doesn't lock me out of regions for no reason.
