Here is an attempt at a full on blog post from an iPhone.

So I broke down and bought one. So far, this thing is wicked. The keyboard works way better than I expected it to. I havent had any problems adapting; however I’ve never had a phone with a keyboard before so I don’t have anything to unlearn.

Activation was simple and painless. I transferred my old number from t-mobile, and it went without a hitch. I did have to restart my phone for the new number to work, but that was the only hitch – if you even want to call it that.

It’s petty amazing, to me, to be able to just log in to wordpress and just type away. The UI auto scrolls to keep the text area in view. I do find that I have to look at the keyboard as I type, but I am already using two thumbs and I’ve only been using it for an hour. Not having copy, paste, and undo is a bit odd, but I am thoroughly impressed (no spellcheck hurts a bit too).

I’am kind of bummed that designmode doesn’t seem to work either. Or, I should say that I am bummed that there is no way to force open the keyboard and catch the keypress events. From what I can tell 9ne works on the phone, but there is no way type. Also, it would be nice if I could upload photos, but that isn’t that big of a deal.

Lastly, if you were curious, the iphone renders Chinese, but there is no way to input Chinese.

This thing is sweet.

I tried to use an online input application to input Chinese, dict.cn, but it didn’t work on the iphone. :(
